The Experience

This informal workshop follows a relaxed structure – we'll see where it takes us based on what you need to learn. You'll start by learning health and safety, then move through each stage of ring making: straightening and work-hardening the silver, cutting it to size, forming it on a mandrel with the bezel, and creating perfect joints through careful filing.

Once your ring is formed and soldered, you'll learn how to remove tooling marks and polish it to a beautiful finish. Then comes the exciting part – choosing your gemstone and setting it securely in the bezel using professional burnishing tools.

Hour 1: Health and safety, straightening wire, measuring your finger, cutting to size, and forming the ring with bezel on the mandrel
Hours 2 and 3: Careful filing to ensure the ring grips the bezel securely with no gaps
